- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (lean works best)
- 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (optional but highly recommended)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- 2 tbsp sesame oil or vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Push the beef to the side and add the remaining oil. Toss in the broccoli florets and sauté for 3–4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture into the skillet, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve hot over rice or noodles.

- Use fresh garlic for the most flavorful sauce.
